Vegetables take the lead

Restaurant De Zwaan, Etten-Leur

Just like Vincent van Gogh, Dutch Cuisine restaurant De Zwaan in Etten-Leur finds inspiration in the landscape of Brabant. The kitchen was awarded a Michelin Star 22 times. Top chef Carlo Chantrel mainly works with regional, organic seasonal produce like asparagus and strawberries from Etten, cheese from small farms nearby, oysters, lobster and sea bass from the Eastern Scheldt, beef from Rijsbergen, boerenmeisjes (brandied apricots) from Roosendaal, and chocolate from Zundert. Carlo serves contemporary and original dishes that highlight the role of vegetables.

Find inspiration in the landscape that Vincent loved and get on a bike. Start by visiting the Van Gogh Church that sheds light on his period in Etten, Then follow the Van Gogh cycling route that takes you to the wide-open spaces of Brabant’s landscape and ends at De Zwaan, where you can enjoy a delicious dinner.
